Logion 39
| 39. Jesus said, The Pharisees and the scribes have received the keys of knowledge and they have hidden them.
And they themselves have not entered, and those who will they have not allowed to enter;
ye, however, be wise as serpents and pure (without guile) as doves. |

It appears that Jesus taught that the Pharisees were keeping the source of knowledge from the common people.
As do many religious leaders even today they were suppressing the non-authorized teaching from the scriptures and other writings of their early prophets and wise men.
We see this attitude manifested today in book burning and suppression of free expression.
The problem is that there are many revelations of truth that abound about us and yet unfortunately there are some who feel they have it and are in a position to direct everyones path to it.
Their mistake results in closing up someones opportunity to approach the truth from another perspective.
What are we to do, when the freedom to publish is abridged?
Only by being wise (possibly having the word memorized) and diseminating the truth without guile is it possible to spread the message to others effectively.
