Logion 33

33. Jesus said, “That which ye will hear in your ear, preach it from your housetops in your other ear. For no one lighteth a lamp that he may put it under a bushel, nor that he may put it in a hidden place, but rather that he may set it upon a lampstand so that every one that entereth in and leaveth may see its light.”
Mt 10:27: “What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.”
Mk 4:21: And he said unto them, “Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?”
Lk 8:16 (Cf. Mt 5:15) “No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.”

When a person has gained insight, it is not reasonable for him to keep it for himself, but to share it with others. It may be a small light when compared to the sun, but everyone has something and all is worthy to be passed along. We must expect others to consider the source and be above any criticism as will overshadow such insight.
