1) one of the 16 possible logical operators, cf. The Languages of Science; the symbol of i. d. is a connective and has for mnemonic the Latin word “vel” for inclusive “or”
2) negated i. d. is a characterization of the features on a segment being the intersection of the elements of the sets’ complements, ¶4-5-5; i. d. of a set’s complements is symbolized using the prefix “non-” on the label of the stippled box for each feature negated and the symbol for intersection between them
3) a semantic functor of MultiNet being one of the interpretations of the English connective or suggesting inclusion, §9-3; in English the composite word “and/or” distinguishes an inclusive from an exclusive interpretation
4) the i. d. of clauses is a grammatical transformation describing this relation between them, ¶9-3-4
