Apparently Solomon Joseph is saying that he had had experience in taking a petition to the St. Louis Conference, when he had joined the Calhoun Co. saints to them, so he knew what he was doing when he did this equally important task for the branch in Arkansas. I suppose it is also possible that he was carrying both petitions with this one trip.
