8. This very influential tract was written by the LDS Church Apostle, Parley P. Pratt [A Voice of Warning and Instruction to All People Or, an Introduction to the Faith and Doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints]. This book went through at least five American editions and two European editions before 1846. The fact that Solomon J. in 1846 had named a son Hyrum Smith, the name of a co-founder of that church, seems to suggest at least a five-year period of acquaintance, respect, and investigation.
