5. We have yet to discover more about this second marriage. One of the children seems to have been named Black Hawk possibly after the Northwest Indian chief who was held responsible for the Black Hawk War in Illinois in 1836. Perhaps it was in the midst of that uprising that this child and his mother passed away. The subsequent marriage was to Celia, born 11 Feb 1807 in Anson Co., North Carolina, the daughter of Jonathan Thaddeus and Sarah (Lumley) Griffith [Extract, & Extract]. The three children from this marriage were born from 1838 to 1842 in Calhoun Co., Illinois. In terms of naming customs it may be considered significant that the twin boys were named George Washington Andrew Jackson Despain and Francis Marion Martin Van Buren Despain.
