Overcoming Obstacles

Obstacle: something that stands in the way, obstructs something Overcome: to get the better of in a struggle, conquer.

Noah — more than 500 years old — go build an ark: 137x23x14 meters.
Why?

Ammon — Alma 17:14. assuredly it was great — preach to Lamanites.

Job came across a few obstacles: 1st house, children (Ch. 1)
2nd sores, boils from head to toe (Ch. 2)
He suffered grief — three men came to comfort; 7 days.
In ch 13:15 though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.
Why?

They had the right perspective.

Noah was obedient — 2 Nephi 31:7 Christ was baptized.

Ammon was dedicated — Alma 17:11 patient

Job [had a good] attitude — “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him.

What about today? Are we obedient? — dedicated as Nephi? (1 Nephi 3:15, not go down) — patient? go wrong, not our way — good attitude

May we all exclaim in the end as Paul of old (2 Tim 4:7) “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” Amen.
