46. Samuel Pepys (say Peeps) kept a diary from January 1, 1660 to May 31, 1669, which has been published since in a number of editions. This book is a good read for those interested in the life of upper class society in the London of that time. Pepys discontinued his careful diary-keeping because of his failing eyesight [SAB].
